About Das WERK

The railway arches at Spittelauer Lände 12 are the whole draw here — a stretch of Stadtbahnbögen in Alsergrund turned over to techno and trance, with the dancing spilling long past the point most Vienna venues have called it a night. Thursdays and Sundays are the anchor sessions, both running from midnight through to around four and six in the morning respectively, while Saturdays stretch to a 6 AM close. Prices sit at the low end, which keeps the room mixed: Western European regulars in their late twenties and thirties alongside a steady tourist contingent who've found their way out of the centre. Smart casual is enough to get in, though nobody's dressing up for a rave. Doors are 18-plus, it runs year-round, and midweek slots on Wednesday and Friday are short late-night openings rather than full nights.
