From May through October the doors open at 3pm and stay open until 10, which puts the whole of the afternoon and the early evening within reach on Via Cristoforo Colombo, high above Positano. Table service runs throughout, with Italian plates and cocktails carried out to a terrace where the soundtrack stays low — jazz, lounge and deep house rather than anything that competes with conversation. Friday and Saturday draw the biggest crowd, a mix of locals, Western European and American visitors and professionals broadly in the 25–45 range; smart casual is the expectation, and the $$$ band reflects both the address and the drinks. Drinking age is 18. It suits a long unhurried stretch of the day, and it fills quickly in high season, so an early arrival pays.
