About Jade by Todd English

Doors open at 5pm every day but Monday, which sets the shape of a visit here: an early drink at the bar while Canggu cools off, then a Mediterranean table that stretches well past sunset and into late. The kitchen works in share plates, so dinner tends to build in waves rather than arrive in courses, and the deep house and house sets running underneath it keep the room moving as the evening goes on. Friday and Saturday are the busy nights, when the couples and young professionals who fill the tables — a lot of Australians and Western Europeans among them — make bookings worth arranging in advance. Smart casual is enough, and the $$$ band puts it in the upper tier of Berawa dining without tipping into formality. Private dining is available for groups who want the room's intimacy without the surrounding tables.
