Plage Les Canailles
Venue Brief
Nice's private shoreline retreat where beach-house sets drift across the afternoon and deck chairs give way to truffle pizza, salmon, and pieuvre as the Mediterranean light softens. The crowd is international, the staff — Aurélien among them — genuinely warm, and the pinsa worth the sun-soaked wait. Order the tartare, stay for the aperitif.

About Plage Les Canailles
Lounge and chill house sets the register here — warm, unhurried, loud enough to carry over the water but never so loud that a table of eight has to raise its voice, which is what lets the room run from a 9:30am opening straight through to a late dinner. The kitchen works a Mediterranean and Italian line with full table service, and brunch is part of the offer rather than an afterthought. Wednesday through Sunday the doors stay open until 11:30pm; Mondays close at 7pm and Tuesdays not at all, and the whole operation runs May to October on the Promenade des Anglais at the Baumettes end of the seafront. Expect a $$$$ bill and a formal dress code that the crowd — corporate professionals, visitors, the occasional recognisable face, mostly between 25 and 45 — takes seriously. Book ahead for the sunset stretch, when the terrace fills fastest.
