About Popworld
Doors go at 8pm on Friday and an hour earlier on Saturday, and both nights run to 3am, so the shape of a visit is a long one — an early arrival on West George Street while the floor is still filling, then several hours of 80s and 90s hits, old-school singalongs and commercial house as the room tightens up. It only opens those two nights, which concentrates the whole week's energy into them; expect a young crowd, largely 18 to 25, mostly Glasgow locals and visitors from elsewhere in the UK, with backpackers filtering in from the city centre hostels.
Smart casual is enough to get past the door, and the $$ band keeps a round affordable, though bottle service and a VIP booth are there if a group wants somewhere to plant itself. Year-round, and busiest exactly when you'd expect.
