About Retro's Nightclub
The bar works in the shared-jug register — bottle service if you take a VIP booth, cheap rounds if you don't, all of it sitting in the $$ band that keeps Orchid Avenue busy. Music holds to 80s and 90s throwbacks and commercial hits, so the floor fills on recognition rather than anything you'd have to keep up with. It opens only two nights a week, 9pm to 3am on Friday and from 8pm on Saturday, and Saturday is the one that fills — an 18-to-25 crowd of backpackers and Gold Coast locals in roughly equal measure, dressed smart casual and out for a late one. The 18-plus door applies year round. With 385 Google reviews at 3.8, expectations are set fairly: it's a dancing room in the middle of Surfers Paradise, and it delivers exactly that.
