Shark's Bay puts this stretch of sand a little away from the noise of central Sharm, which is the point: doors open at 7am seven days a week and close at 7pm, so the day here is measured in sunlight rather than sets. Day beds and table service mean you can settle in early and stay, with a kitchen that ranges widely enough to keep a long lunch interesting, and lounge and chilled house playing low behind it. The crowd skews young and international — Western and Eastern European holidaymakers, mostly in their twenties — and it thickens from Thursday through Sunday when the resort turnover peaks. Beachwear is the dress code and nobody is checking for anything more. Prices sit in the mid band, which for a full day of beds and drinks is reasonable by Sharm standards. It runs year-round; drinking age is 18.
