Natai's stretch of Phang Nga coastline runs year-round, so the daybeds are set out in every month, and the crowd shifts with the weekends rather than the seasons — Friday through Sunday is when the loungers fill and the music turns up. Lounge and deep house sets stay at conversation level through the afternoon, which suits the couples and socialites who make up most of the room, and the kitchen keeps to Thai cooking served at the table. Bottle and table service, valet at the door and a $$$$ band mean this is a book-ahead, settle-in kind of day rather than a walk-up. Beach chic is the standard — swimwear works on the sand, less so once you're seated. Guests are expected to be 30 or over, with 20 the minimum for drinking.
