About Jimmy Woo

Korte Leidsedwarsstraat runs just off Leidseplein in the Centrum, a short, busy stretch of bars and doorways where the queue outside is part of the street's furniture — arrive late and you're arriving with everyone else. Doors open at 11pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday only, running to 3am midweek and 4am at the weekend, so the night is compressed into a few hours and the room fills fast. Hip hop leads the music, with R&B and trance in the mix, and bottle service in the VIP booths is the way to hold ground once the floor tightens. Smart casual is enforced rather than suggested, and the crowd skews 25 to 45, a mix of Western European visitors and Amsterdam regulars. Prices sit in the mid band, which for a Leidseplein club with a selective door is fair going.
