About Joy Eslava

Calle del Arenal keeps this one running every month of the year, so a Thursday in February draws much the same crowd as a Saturday in July — young locals and a strong South American contingent filling the floor and the balconies above it. Reggaeton and commercial hits carry the main room, with lounge and chill house softening the earlier hours and live shows giving the night a bit of theatre before the dancing takes over properly. Bottle service and VIP booths are there if you want a base, and the $$$ band reflects that; the door runs smart elegant and the age policy skews young, 18 to 25, with 18 the drinking minimum. Thursday through Saturday are the nights that fill, and in Centro that means a walk home rather than a taxi.
