Venue Brief

The Alain Delon Ballroom stripped back and rebuilt as a nightclub for two runs a year — the ten days of the Film Festival, then all of July and August. Twelve hundred square metres, a thousand people, and a booking policy that reads like a festival bill: Black Coffee, Keinemusik, Solomun, Adriatique, Peggy Gou. Tables ring the floor and the Croisette is a short walk back, which is rather the point.

About Klub

House, deep house and tech house carry the room here, with Afrohouse threading through the later hours — a sound built for volume and for a floor that stays standing rather than seated. Bottle service and VIP booths ring that floor at Palm Beach, out on the Pointe Croisette, and the $$$$ band tells you plainly which side of the room most of the spending happens on. Friday through Sunday are the nights that fill, drawing tourists, socialites and the occasional recognisable face, mostly a Western European crowd in their twenties; entry runs to 21-plus even though the legal drinking age is 18. Dress smart elegant and mean it. The calendar is short and deliberate — the Film Festival week in May, then July and August — so there is no drifting in on a quiet Tuesday in October. Book a table ahead if you want somewhere to put your drink.
