Venue Brief

Hotel terrace above Mykonos Town where Japanese precision meets Cycladic panorama: whitewashed rooftops dissolving into deep Aegean blue, shisha curling through salt air, and a sushi menu regulars have been returning to every summer since 2020. Book the sunset hour — the view alone justifies the reservation.

About Kiku

Yialos sits just above the harbour edge of Mykonos Town, close enough that a table here can be the whole evening or simply the hour before you head down into the lanes. Doors open at 8am and stay open until 1am, seven days a week from June through September, so the same room serves an early coffee, a long lunch and a late seafood dinner without ever changing gear. The kitchen works in Japanese, leaning on sushi and seafood, delivered by table service in the $$$ band; lounge and chill house runs underneath it, and champagne showers are not unusual once the night finds its footing. The crowd skews 25 to 45 — international visitors, western Europeans, business people and the occasional recognisable face — and dresses smart casual, which in practice means considered rather than formal. Peak season is every day of the week, so book ahead, particularly for sunset.
