From May through October the season runs on the Old Sea Road at Hamat, just before the tunnel, and the shape of a visit is a full daylight one: a day bed claimed early, lounge and chill house kept low enough to talk over, Mediterranean plates brought to the lounger and bottle service if the group is in the mood. Fridays through Sundays draw the heaviest turnout, mixing Lebanese regulars with Western European and Middle Eastern visitors, mostly in the twenty-five to forty-five bracket, with eighteen the line for drinking. Beachwear is all that is asked of anyone. Prices sit in the mid band, which for a stretch of the northern coast with pools and sea access is fair going. Come midweek if you want the water quiet.
