Chemin de Matarane runs through the hills of Ramatuelle, the quieter commune that shares its coastline with Saint-Tropez, and getting there is part of the evening — valet at the door, then a table that's yours for the night. The kitchen works across seafood, Peruvian and Mediterranean lines, which suits the long, unhurried dinners that gradually turn into something louder as deep house, Afrohouse and tech house take over the room. Bottle service and VIP booths are the operating model at this price level, and the $$$$ band is honest about what an evening here costs. Thursday through Saturday draw the heaviest crowd — largely locals and Western European regulars, socialites and the occasional familiar face, mostly in the 25 to 45 range. Smart casual is enforced, though the Côte d'Azur reading of that leans polished. The season runs May to October and not a day longer.
